About Us

Thank you for making us a preferred Santa Barbara Veterinary Hospital.

Pet care is our top priority. Here’s what sets us apart and makes us a trusted veterinary care provider in Santa Barbara.

Dr. Caitlin Kelly

Dr. Caitlin Kelly

Owner, Veterinarian

Dr. Kelly graduated from the undergraduate integrative biology department at the University of California at Berkeley (Go Bears!) and from the veterinary doctorate program at Oregon State University. Dr. Kelly had the drive and desire to become a veterinarian since she was a child, but the dream was cemented while volunteering at the humane society and working at a pet emergency clinic during undergrad.

Dr. Kelly, formerly of White’s Pet Hospital, has been practicing in the Santa Barbara area since 2014. In 2019, Dr. Kelly became a Goleta veterinarian with the purchase of The Goodland Pet Hospital – La Concepcion. Dr. Kelly has special medical interests in dentistry, surgery, and preventive care medicine of dogs and cats. She enjoys collaborative medicine and working together in a team approach to get the best medical care for our patients. She is best known for her warm and thorough client communication and her love of golden retrievers.

Outside of the veterinary practice, Dr. Kelly places the utmost importance on family life. She believes that people and loved ones (including fur babies) are what life is all about! You will see this kindness and compassion when you meet her with how she treats your fur family. She spends her time at home on the family ranch with husband, young child, and the grandparents, at the beach with the dogs, or snuggling her ragdoll feline on the couch. She enjoys photography and being active in many outdoor activities: skiing, hiking, kayaking, camping, or exploring new places. She is always involved in some DIY project and working on learning something new.

Dr. Jacob Bryan

Dr. Jacob Bryan

Veterinarian

Dr. Bryan graduated with his undergraduate and master’s degrees from Purdue University in Indiana, where he originally hails. The pursuit of a doctorate in veterinary medicine led him out to the West Coast to attend the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona. Upon obtaining his doctorate, he moved back home for a brief stint practicing mixed animal medicine. After two harsh winters, he realized it was time for a change and that he missed the sunshine and ocean breeze! During his externships, Dr. Bryan was fortunate to spend some time in the Santa Barbara area and knew The Goodland was where he eventually wanted to end up.

In his spare time, Dr. Bryan enjoys exploring the outdoors with his four-legged pal, Watson, hiking, camping, and spending time at the beach. He is also passionate about marine conservation and volunteers with the Channel Island Marine and Wildlife Institution, rescuing and rehabilitating marine mammals in the surrounding counties.

Dr. Bryan is eager and excited to continue his veterinary career at The Goodland Pet Hospital – La Concepcion. His special medical interests include preventive care, senior pet care, and exotic animal medicine.

Michael Kelly

Michael Kelly

Practice Manager

Michael Kelly is a southern California native. He spent his early years in San Diego very active in the sailing community and to this day maintains an active membership with the San Diego Yacht Club. He went to university on the central coast attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Michael gained valuable experience in customer service, human resources, and management while working at the Hilton in Corvallis, Oregon. Michael’s aspirations are to create a hotel-style welcoming environment in the veterinary clinic and lead the team to the Hilton / Ritz Carlton level of customer service.

When not at work, Michael can be seen riding his mountain bike all over the Santa Barbara hills or visiting the Moxi and Santa Barbara zoo with his family. Family life is very important to Michael; in his words being a dad is “the best thing ever.” He has a special love for golden retrievers but has hopes of one day being a doggy dad to a Newfoundland or a German short-haired pointer.

Catherine

Member of the Veterinary Care Team

Catherine, aka Cat, is a Southern California native originally from the San Fernando Valley. She became a Goleta resident in 2012. Catherine’s introduction to the veterinary field started at 10 years old when she would visit her god mother’s job at a veterinary clinic. Her love and understanding of animals has only grown since then. Catherine is a mother of two as well as a new grandmother. She has two small dogs, Mr. Pickles and Rodger as well as a rabbit named Mister Kitty who rules the household. In her free time Catherine enjoys spending time outdoors, kayaking, hiking and barbecuing with friends.
