Dr. Kelly graduated from the undergraduate integrative biology department at the University of California at Berkeley (Go Bears!) and from the veterinary doctorate program at Oregon State University. Dr. Kelly had the drive and desire to become a veterinarian since she was a child, but the dream was cemented while volunteering at the humane society and working at a pet emergency clinic during undergrad.Dr. Kelly, formerly of White’s Pet Hospital, has been practicing in the Santa Barbara area since 2014. In 2019, Dr. Kelly became a Goleta veterinarian with the purchase of The Goodland Pet Hospital – La Concepcion. Dr. Kelly has special medical interests in dentistry, surgery, and preventive care medicine of dogs and cats. She enjoys collaborative medicine and working together in a team approach to get the best medical care for our patients. She is best known for her warm and thorough client communication and her love of golden retrievers.Outside of the veterinary practice, Dr. Kelly places the utmost importance on family life. She believes that people and loved ones (including fur babies) are what life is all about! You will see this kindness and compassion when you meet her with how she treats your fur family. She spends her time at home on the family ranch with husband, young child, and the grandparents, at the beach with the dogs, or snuggling her ragdoll feline on the couch. She enjoys photography and being active in many outdoor activities: skiing, hiking, kayaking, camping, or exploring new places. She is always involved in some DIY project and working on learning something new.

Michael Kelly

Michael Kelly

Practice Manager

Michael Kelly is a southern California native. He spent his early years in San Diego very active in the sailing community and to this day maintains an active membership with the San Diego Yacht Club. He went to university on the central coast attending Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Michael gained valuable experience in customer service, human resources, and management while working at the Hilton in Corvallis, Oregon. Michael’s aspirations are to create a hotel-style welcoming environment in the veterinary clinic and lead the team to the Hilton / Ritz Carlton level of customer service.

When not at work, Michael can be seen riding his mountain bike all over the Santa Barbara hills or visiting the Moxi and Santa Barbara zoo with his family. Family life is very important to Michael; in his words being a dad is “the best thing ever.” He has a special love for golden retrievers but has hopes of one day being a doggy dad to a Newfoundland or a German short-haired pointer.

In his time in the Navy and after, he has traveled across the U.S. four different times and been to nearly every state. Tony is married to his wonderful wife, Emily, and together they are the loving parents of three fur-babbies: Maddie (10 yrs, Shepard), Bella (8 yrs, Chocolate Lab), and Oscar (10 mo, Dachshund). When it comes to pets with special needs, Carlos is the person you want handling your pet. Born and raised in Lompoc, Carlos has spent years in the area cultivating a wealth of both emergency care and general practice experience in providing high-quality, individualized care. You can often find Carlos assisting the doctors in surgical or dental procedures, and coaching and training other staff on proper health and safety procedures during these types of medical care. When he isn’t assisting in surgery, Carlos thrives in getting to work with animals that have been labeled “difficult, aggressive, or unworkable” by others- He understands they are simply misunderstood and just need someone to get into their mindset and make them feel comfortable and safe! In his free time, Carlos can be found out in the beauty of the Santa Barbara region: fishing, hiking, or just relaxing on the beach with his best friend, Mexi(6yr, Pit) or caring for his geckos at home!
